There’s a saying that it takes 21 days to break a habit. I decided to test that by deleting my most used social media app because I realised I was spending far too much time on it. Whenever I had a free moment, without even thinking, I would open it. Now it’s gone, but my thumb still automatically moves to where it used to be. That reaction made me realise how many habits shape us without us even noticing. It reminded me of 1 Corinthians 10:23 where Paul says, “I have the right to do anything—but not everything is beneficial… not everything is constructive.” Just because we can doesn’t mean we should. Just because something isn’t wrong doesn’t mean it’s building us up. Social media isn’t necessarily wrong. But is it beneficial? Is it constructive? Is it shaping me into a better Christian? We can delete a habit, but what are we going to replace that time with? Maybe instead of just breaking habits, it’s also time to replace them with ones that shape us into who God wants us to be. So what non-beneficial habits do you have in your life that you could change into ones that bring you closer to God? (Hannah H) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/1Co10v23-24
