You are driving on the freeway, and there is a slow car that won’t get out of your lane. “Idiot!” you shout through your windscreen, “move to the slow lane so I can pass”. You stop at the shop to buy some groceries. You choose the slowest queue. “Argh!” you mutter, “this is so frustrating!”. What is it about humans and our lack of patience? Our impatience only leaves us frustrated, angry, and without peace. We need to heed the advice of Proverbs – “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly”(Proverbs 14:29). Patience is a sign of great understanding. Understanding what? It’s a sign of someone who understands the only solution to impatience – God. God wants to rescue us from our impatience. God offers to pour the gift of his love into our hearts through his Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). If we unwrap this gift, inside, we will find that “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not dishonour others, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Great understanding means knowing only God’s gift can change us. Today, open your heart to God so that he can give you His gift of love and experience His peace and patience. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/pro14v29, https://bit.ly/Rom5-5, https://bit.ly/1co13v4-5
