God’s Roundabout way

God’s Roundabout way

Have you prayed for something, and it seemed like God was doing the opposite of what you asked for? Or maybe the events that took place seemed to have no bearing on what you prayed about. Just after Moses led Israel in a miraculous way out of captivity on their journey to the promised land, we read this strange passage. “When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea.“ (Exodus 13:17-18). God knows us better than we do. He even knows what we want before we ask him (Matthew 6:8). In His wisdom, he also knows the best path for us – sometimes, it’s a roundabout way. We may think it’s crazy or unanswered prayer. But God knows what he is doing is for our ultimate good and the surest, most certain route to the promised end – his Kingdom. Trust God, even when it’s a roundabout route. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Exo13v17-18, http://bit.ly/Mat6v8
