How would you feel if you were chosen last for a team? It’s not a nice feeling as it implies you are considered to be of the least worth. However, imagine if a super team was being selected – one representing not just your school, town, or country but the world. And imagine if you were not only chosen to be on this team but you were chosen even before you knew that the team was being selected. The good news is that you don’t need to imagine this; it is true for all those who respond to God’s call. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” (Ephesians 1:4). What an honour. If you are reading this, it already means you have a heart that is open to hearing God. It means that Jesus is at work in you.
