If there’s a physical embodiment of “fear of the unknown,” it’s swimming in very dark waters. This year, we had a race that required swimming in a dam filled with natural tannins, creating an extremely dark colour. For most of the race, we swam face-down, left with only our thoughts and the view through our goggles. But during the race, we were blessed with bright sunshine that broke through the darkness, illuminating the depths below us. This experience reminded me of Psalm 18:28: “You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” It was a surreal moment that encouraged many swimmers to keep going as the sun’s light dispelled the darkness beneath us. The fear of the unknown or what we can’t see is always present, but it’s about trusting God to light the path ahead. He keeps our lamps burning, even in times of uncertainty, turning our darkness into light. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa18v28 (Jean-Luc H)
