Conquering music

Conquering music

Music is something we all enjoy. It relaxes, celebrates, transforms, and transports. It can calm or excite. But it also does something surprising—it conquers. Throughout history, music has rallied troops, but in the book of Joshua, music itself conquers a city: “When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city” (Joshua 6:20). This is the story of Israel conquering Jericho, a seemingly unconquerable city, as they entered the promised land after 40 years in the desert. It’s a story of victory through faith. We all have Jerichos in our lives—goals we’ve worked toward for so long, only to face an impossible wall at the end or hopes delayed by what feels like failure. Yet, through song and praise, we can conquer anything. Whatever challenges rise before you today, no matter how impossible the walls may seem, sing and praise God. Let His music bring you victory. “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Jos6v20, http://bit.ly/Phi4v4
