Chased by good

Chased by good

I remember being about 12, exploring the bush with a friend near his house. We ended up by a river and couldn’t find the way back. Suddenly, two men appeared behind us—one with a machete, the other a whip—and started chasing us. We scrambled up a waterfall and fled up a sandy bank they couldn’t climb. Eventually we found our way home, hearts racing but safe. Life can often feel like that—like something dark is always pursuing us. But David, who faced real threats from those trying to kill him, had a completely different outlook. He wrote in Psalm 23:6, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” What a beautiful reversal. Instead of evil chasing us, he saw God’s love and goodness running after him. Maybe we’re running too fast, too afraid, too focused on what we fear. Maybe we just need to stop. To let God catch up to us. Because it’s not evil that’s after us—it’s God’s goodness, and he wants to bring us home. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Psa23v6 (Craig B)
