How often is a warning about some danger shared with you on social media? How often do you share warnings with others? The intention is usually good, as we feel it is important to alert others to potential dangers. Yet these “dangers” are often fake, using people’s good intentions to spread virally. Frequently, the dangers are also overstated, creating unnecessary anxiety in a world already suffering from epidemic stress levels. But there is one warning that is neither fake nor overstated yet is hardly ever shared. It’s the danger of sin – a topic few talk about but a condition we all suffer from. And the danger is extreme as we read in Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death”. Ignoring this danger does not remove it. As Jesus said, “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” (John 8:24). However, while the danger is real and deadly, there is hope. Jesus can remove the danger and in a way beyond what we could ever expect. As Romans 6:23 continues, “But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. Now, that’s a warning and a solution worth sharing.
