A lived faith

A lived faith

I was recently taking a deeper look at the word faith. The Hebrew word for faith is emunah. Its meaning is more than a noun, it is a way of living. Emunah is an active state of being, steadfast, faithful, and active, a daily reliance on God rather than just an intellectual belief in God or his Word. It’s closely related to the Hebrew words for craftsman (uman) and exercises (imunim). Just as a craftsman does not learn his skill by being idle, or a person get fit by sitting all day, so our faith needs constant practice, day by day. Faith grows each time I choose to trust Him again, not just in what I think, but in how I live. Left to myself, I reduce faith to ideas, something I understand, yet struggle to walk out. But the gospel calls me deeper, into a faith that is alive, because Christ himself sustains it within me. My role is not to force trust, but to yield to the One who is always faithful. “The righteous shall live by his faith.” — Habakkuk 2:4 This is emunah, not passive belief, but lived trust, anchored and enduring. Even in uncertainty, I remain strong in God. (Nicky B) Open Bible – bit.ly/Hab2vs4
