Finding your true purpose

Finding your true purpose

Everywhere we look, people are searching for meaning, purpose, and identity. Many chase these through careers, relationships, achievements, or social media, yet still feel empty because true purpose can only be found in God. We often define ourselves by what we do, how we look, or what we own, but these are temporary foundations. Careers change, beauty fades, and possessions can be lost. Psalm 39:4 reminds us, “Show me, LORD, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.” The opening verses of Scripture reveal God’s purpose clearly: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light.’” God is the eternal source of all creation – visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16). Where there was darkness and disorder, God brought light and meaning. That same God shines His light into our hearts today (2 Corinthians 4:6). Humanity was created in God’s image, designed for relationship with Him. As Jesus taught, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). Our purpose is rooted in Him alone. As Acts 17:28 declares, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” Genesis 1:1 reminds us that God is the foundation of all life, and the true source of our purpose. (Nicky B).
