There is a basic principle in mathematics: zero multiplied by any number – no matter how grear – will always equal zero. But this isn’t just a mathematical principle; it’s a divine one too. We see it powerfully illustrated in the story of the great multiplication miracle. Seeing a large crowd, Jesus asks His disciples where they can buy food. They’re shocked – it would cost a fortune. Then Andrew says, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” (John 6:9). Maybe the boy overheard and offered what seemed like a ridiculously small gift. Yet with that small amount, Jesus fed over 5,000 people. This is the power of multiplication, but it only happens when something is given to God. Jesus calls it mustard seed faith (Matthew 17:20). It’s tiny, but even that can move mountains. We’re not required to bring greatness to God, but we must bring something. If you want to find out how much Jesus can do for you, bring what you have and put it in his hands.
