One desire

One desire

There are two things in life that go hand in hand – desires and complaints. We all have an endless list of desires and a seemingly endless list of complaints. Our desires can be small – “I can’t wait for a sunny day”, or big – “I want a new car.” Our complaints can also range from minor – “I’m over this rainy weather”, to bigger frustrations – “I hate my stupid car.” There’s a constant dance between our discontent and what we desire, often fuelled by marketers selling us both new wants and new dissatisfaction. But imagine a life where all your desires were fulfilled and complaints were gone. There is a way: make God your only desire. “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.” (Psalm 73:25-26). If God becomes our ultimate desire, He will satisfy all our needs. When we reprioritise what truly matters and put Him first, we find a life of deep, lasting contentment. “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4). If you want the desires of your heart, make God your desire. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Psa73v25-26, https://bit.ly/Psa37v4
