My watch has a great feature – it warns me if I’ve left a device behind. It buzzes and displays a message: “iPhone left behind: This device is no longer detected near you.” Imagine if my watch buzzed and displayed this message, “Jesus left behind: He is no longer detected near you.” It’s one thing to leave your tech behind, but walking away from Jesus has eternal consequences. Yet this can happen so easily. We get busy, distracted by work, worries, and ambitions, and soon realise we’ve left God behind. Sunday’s connection gets lost in Monday’s rush. But God wants to be part of every moment, every decision, every pursuit of our lives. He is not a Sunday God – He’s an every-moment God. “He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:8). It’s up to us to stay connected, choosing Him daily. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love” (John 15:9-10).
