At first, it’s subtle. Just a hint of colour on the drab palette of brown. But before long, it’s unmistakable as the kaleidoscope of colour bursts out. Spring is here🌻. Yet, beyond the obvious beauty of colour returning to fields and gardens, what are these beautiful flowers telling us? Written in swaths of living colour and sweet-scented bouquets is a divine message for all to see. It’s God’s promise. It’s God’s offer. It’s God’s message. The opposite of death, sickness, and war. It’s the Power of the Flower. It’s the glory of God. It’s the promise of hope beyond despair. Love beyond hate. Life beyond death. A springtime of endless life. “The desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.” (Isaiah 35:1). The Power of the Flower is also God’s call to us. To be a fragrance of hope to a world in despair. To share his bright palette of love, kindness, and compassion. ”Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life.” (2 Corinthians 2:15 MSG).
