Recently, our dog needed surgery on her paw. When we picked her up, her eyes were filled with fear and confusion. She couldn’t understand why we had allowed this to happen to her. We felt so bad because she didn’t realize it was for her good—the procedure, though painful, would ultimately bring healing. It made me think about our relationship with God. How often does He allow suffering in our lives—pain we don’t understand, yet pain that is for our ultimate good? “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). We may never fully understand why we go through certain struggles, but one thing is certain: God works everything for our eternal good. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” (2 Corinthians 4:17). Whatever you are experiencing, know that God cares for you more than you can imagine. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/2co4v17, https://bit.ly/isa55v8-9 (Craig B)
