In life we are all faced with many decisions. We navigate life’s complexity by choosing to learn or listen to those who seem to know more. Is listening to leaders, influencers, or academics enough to make the right decisions? Not long ago, many world leaders and top academics supported eugenics—the idea that people who were deformed or mentally challenged should be sterilized to create a purer human race. It was the rage. Why wouldn’t you support this when everyone with influence was behind it? Now we know how terrible this thinking is; it led to horrific genocide. Looking back, we are shocked that people went along with it. Today, the same type of “good” is promoted by influencers and leaders, and soon we may look back with equal shock. Yet, it raises a more important question: how do we get wisdom to see clearly? Knowledge isn’t enough. Leaders and academics can be wrong. We need something beyond human reason, above leaders. We need God. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). Only God can give us wisdom to see clearly. Let God be your guide; His wisdom is the only way to successfully navigate life. (Craig Blewett) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Jam1v5
