Spirit goggles

Spirit goggles

There is a wonderful world of sea life in the ocean. But if you just put your head under water and open your eyes, all you’ll see is blurry shapes. It’s only when you wear goggles or a dive mask that everything becomes clear and beautiful. This is because we need a layer of air around our eyes to bend the light correctly. Life is like swimming in an ocean. All we see is endless water. Even when we try to look deeper, we struggle to find beauty or hope. Yet others seem to have a joy and peace we can’t explain. They aren’t special—it’s just that they’re looking with Spirit eyes. God’s Spirit gives them a lens to see what is invisible to others. “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”—the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:9–10). Ask God today to give you Spirit eyes. Then you’ll begin to see what’s really there—the joy, peace, and wonder that God has prepared for you, even when it’s hidden below the surface.
