We live in a temporary world filled with vices encouraging us to get short-term happiness. Social media pushes us to seek instant joy from short-form media or instant news. Maybe you get joy from buying something new. The anticipation builds as we await the delivery, yet once the item arrives, the initial joy swiftly disappears, leaving a vacuum of desire for the next thing. It is a continual cycle of instant joy followed by unfulfillment and the desire for more. Yet, God offers us something much greater, more fulfilling, and more lasting – the gift of eternal life. In Romans 6:23, we read, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” God is offering gifts that don’t fade but gifts that enhance your life, now and forever.
