Reflections of Light

Reflections of Light

Every morning the sun rises and the world is flooded with light. In that light we are warmed, we see, plants grow, and life flourishes. Yet have you considered that light itself is invisible? The sun’s rays travel through the vast darkness of space unseen. Only when they reach Earth do we see beauty. Light becomes visible only when it reflects off something. Though space is filled with light, it appears dark because there is nothing to reflect it. God’s presence works the same way. He is the light of life: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). If we can’t see Him, it’s because we haven’t let His light reflect off our lives. “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8–9). God is seen in the reflections of His people. If your life feels dark, step into His light and you will see true beauty. “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you” (Isaiah 60:1).
