I once watched a show about extreme hoarders. These people hoard everything from fast food packaging to rubber ducks to garbage until every drawer, cupboard, room, and the entire house is so full they can’t move. While there are extreme hoarders, most of us like to keep things because “I might need it”. Keeping things is part of being prepared, but often what we keep are things we will never use. Our hoarding culture is why there is a big industry around storage containers because when our house can’t fit our hoarding we simply pay to store it somewhere else where it will be safe and secure. Solomon has a great suggestion. How about taking our insatiable hoarding obsession and hoarding something worthwhile? “My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.” (Proverbs 7:1-2). We should “keep” and “store”, which means “hoard”, God’s words and commands. If you want to hoard, hoard God’s Word. Keep filling every single drawer, cupboard, and room, until your entire life is filled with God, and then you will truly live. Not in a house filled with worthless clutter in which you can’t move, but in a life filled with God where you are truly free. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/pro7v1-2
