Have you ever played chess or a board game like Risk where you need to try and outstrategize your friend and win? Competition is tough, pride is on the line, and winning is the goal. But what if I told you a secret to winning every time? Just like we strategize in games, life has its own battles, be it internal challenges or conflicts with others, and we all seek victory. Have you ever felt the thrill of victory or the sting of defeat? We all strive for that sweet taste of victory. So, how do we achieve it? We better ourselves, develop our skills and prepare. This all heightens our chances, so surely victory will be ours. Yes, we may win the battle, but there’s an easier method that wins the war, found in Proverbs 21:31: “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.” We can use battleships, fighter jets, missiles, and tanks, and rely on human might, but this pales in comparison to the Lord’s strength.
