While visiting Australia, I was fascinated by the pelicans. The Aussie pelican is in the Guinness Book of World Records because it has the longest bill of any bird. But what is most fascinating is seeing these huge birds gliding effortlessly along in the water against the current. Their body remains still, yet below the surface, their feet are working to direct them and keep them moving forward. There are times in life when we meet “pelicans”. People of incredible grace and peace despite the trials of life. Sometimes, these people may be going through tough times, yet they appear at peace. For some, it may be that below the surface, there is a frenzy of worry. But for others, there is peace above and below. A peace that transcends understanding. It’s the peace of promise. The peace of Jesus. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). If the currents of life are against you, ask Jesus for his peace promise. A gift of peace that is life-changing. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh14v27
