Planning is a constant part of our lives. Whether it’s a wedding, a holiday, buying a home, or even just deciding on dinner, we’re always planning something. The thing about planning is that even once we achieve what we set out to do, we quickly move on to planning the next thing, repeating the cycle endlessly. Often, we tie our happiness to these plans, and when they don’t turn out exactly as we imagined, it disrupts our peace. We sometimes trick ourselves into thinking we have the power to achieve everything exactly as we envision, painting a perfect picture in our minds. However, the Bible reminds us that while our plans may be fulfilled, they might not be in the way we expected. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” The next time a plan doesn’t work out as you hoped, take a moment to be grateful. It may not have been your vision, but it was God’s, and His plans are always better. Trust that He knows what’s best, even when things don’t go according to your script.
