We recently stayed at de Hoop in the Western Cape of South Africa. It’s an untouched piece of coast known for its beauty. One of the activities we enjoyed was a guided marine walk exploring the coastal rock pools. Upon arrival, I looked at the rock pools from afar… nothing out of the ordinary or spectacular. “What is all the hype about?” I wondered. “These rock pools look barren.” Until I stopped and knelt beside them, a new world opened up to me: urchins, starfish, sea cucumbers, sea anemones and much more. The closer I looked, the more I saw. I was reminded of God in the detail. Nothing is random or chance. In Psalm 139:13, we read, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Just as we can see God’s attention to detail in nature, how much more attention does he give to us? We are knitted together with purpose and intent. Your existence is not random. God knows you so intimately that he knows the number of hairs on your head. How blessed are we to be known so intimately? To be loved so deeply. A grace we do not deserve. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa139v13-14 (Kayla G)
