Life from death

Life from death

On a recent game walk, the ranger explained how even a decomposing carcass gives life—nourishing animals, birds, insects, and eventually the soil itself. In God’s creation, even death sustains life. But human waste is a different story. A baby diaper takes 500 years to decompose. A glass bottle? Over a million. Instead of life, our creations often bring destruction. Psalm 104:30 says, “When you give them your breath, life is created, and you renew the face of the earth.” God’s breath brings life and renewal. Ours so often brings decay. Even our self-made plans can lead us away from life. Proverbs 14:12 warns, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” God alone is the true source of life. When we live by His design, even our pain, struggles, and endings can produce something beautiful. He brings renewal in this life—and eternal life in the one to come.
