Today, God has a powerful message for you. Hosea shares our way back to God when our sins have led us astray. What was Israel’s sin? “Assyria cannot save us; we will not mount warhorses. We will never again say ‘Our gods’ to what our own hands have made.“ (Hosea 14:3). Just like Israel, we turn to the world instead of God to save us. We build homes, careers, and bank balances and consider our success the work of our hands. We see this success as belonging to us and not God. These possessions ultimately become our gods, and we worship them by devoting all our time and attention to them. God tells Israel what to do to renew their relationship with Him. “Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: “Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.” (Hosea 14:2). God’s response to Israel’s prayer; “I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.” (Hosea 14:4). We worship a Heavenly Father who loves us freely.
