Frozen hands

Frozen hands

Recently, we experienced something rare and unexpected in South Africa: snow. A cold front swept through, covering the mountains near our home with a blanket of snow. Filled with excitement, we hiked up to witness this winter wonderland. Snow fell and blanketed everything around us, a beautiful scene that kept our phones busy as we tried to capture God’s artistry in snow. But with the wonder came the cold. Soon, my hands, exposed to the freezing air, became numb and useless—I couldn’t even operate my phone or zip my jacket. It made me realise that cold hands lose feeling and become ineffective. But even worse is what God warns us about—when our love grows cold. Jesus said, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). This chilling warning points to a world where many lose their capacity to love God and each other, leaving us with cold hearts and hands. “If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?” (1 John 3:17). Are our hearts growing cold in a world that desperately needs warmth and love? Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Mat24v12, http://bit.ly/1Jo3v17
