It’s a particularly windy day, and watching the seagulls is fascinating. The seagulls align and face directly toward the wind while the wind blasts across the ocean and beach. It makes sense as this will enable them to keep their feathers unruffled, and it’s the direction they must face to take flight. Yet, while this is sensible to them, it seems as humans, this is not what we do. There are teachings and so-called “enlightened” “woke” ideas blasting across our world, and most simply sit with their backs to it, thinking it can be ignored. Yet, as Paul warns us in Ephesians 4:14 – We must “no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming”. Rather, we need to be emboldened by the “grace (that) has been given (to us) as Christ apportioned it” (Ephesians 4:7) and face the wind. By doing this, we will be able to overcome the buffeting that is surely coming and be ready to lift up and rise to heavenly heights in Jesus.
