Eating wind

Eating wind

In the book of Hosea, the people of Israel are described in a strange way: “The people of Israel feed on the wind; they chase after the east wind all day long” (Hosea 12:1). It’s a humorous yet tragic image of people eating and chasing wind—foolish and purposeless pursuits. Yet, is this not also a picture of our own lives? How often do we “eat the wind,” filling our mouths, minds, and bodies with empty, meaningless conversations? We fill our mouths with complaints, gossip, or negativity. Like eating wind, this doesn’t nourish us; it harms us. And how often do we “chase the wind,” pursuing people, wealth, or promises that ultimately prove empty and meaningless? In a world where social media often becomes our daily diet and self-pleasure the norm, we must pause and reflect on what we are feeding our lives with. Are we consuming what leaves us empty, or pursuing what leaves us unfulfilled? Today, will you feed on the wind, or will you seek the life-changing Spirit of God? Choose wisely, for only one leads to life. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Hos12v1
