Our dogs absolutely love going for a walk, but for us humans, it’s a test of patience. They stop to sniff everything, making progress painfully slow. On a recent walk, another dog owner passed by, and noticing his slow progress, I empathized. He replied, “Yes, but they teach us to slow down and enjoy the present.” How right he was. For many of us, life is all about the destination. Goals are important, and plans to achieve them are necessary. God even gives us the ultimate goal: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). But could there be more? I once read about an experiment where participants completed a puzzle, but the real focus was the time they took to leave the building afterward. What if life is similar? What if the goal isn’t just about reaching the end but about the journey itself? While we strive for God’s Kingdom, the greatest commandment reminds us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind…and love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). Love is daily, it’s the journey, the path to the destination—and it is the goal. Slow down. Stop. Love. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/mat6v33, https://bit.ly/mat22v37
