How you treat strangers, especially those in need, is one of the most significant indicators of your faith. These interactions show the presence, or not, of God in us. The goal should always be to have people assume you’re a Christian just by how you engage with others. Recently, I found myself in a situation with two reactions to a homeless man. One where he was being chased away violently and another where he was offered a blanket and food to help him. We are reminded in Hebrews 13:25 to “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it”. We are encouraged to have kind interactions with strangers. Not only might it be an angel, but also because of the good it brings to ourselves. As you go out today, look for opportunities to share the love Jesus has shown you with the strangers God places in your path. Not only will it change them, but it will change you, too.
