Our dog has a funny habit of trying to bury her food. She’ll take a few pellets from her bowl and attempts to hide them in the carpet or under a blanket. Likely trying to keep them from our other dog, all she achieves is feeding the ants. Strangely, humans do something similar. Jesus tells a parable about this. A master entrusts his servants with different amounts of money (talents) before leaving on a journey. Two servants invest their talents and double their value, but the third, who received one talent, buries his out of fear. When the master returns, he praises the first two but rebukes the third, commanding that his talent be taken away. Jesus concludes, “For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them” (Matthew 25:29). The issue is this servant’s scarcity mindset. He saw his one talent as small, missing its potential for growth and abundance. God has given each of us unique gifts and resources, whether many or few. The question is, what are you doing with them? Are you burying your “pellets”? Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Mat25v29
