It’s unseen, unthought of, yet it underpins all life. I’m talking about air—the invisible gas we rarely notice until we can’t get it. Without it, even for a few minutes, we cannot survive. It’s no surprise, then, that God’s Spirit is described as breath throughout His Word. From the Bible’s opening words, we see God breathing into emptiness: “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters” (Genesis 1:2). God’s breath was there, ready to bring life, turning darkness and emptiness into light and life: “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). This begins the story of God’s breath bringing transformation and creation. He breathes into space, and stars are born (Psalm 33:6). He breathes into dust, and man is formed (Genesis 2:7). He breathes on prophets, and His Word is written (2 Peter 1:21). He breathes on Jesus, and perfection is revealed (Matthew 3:16-17). Now, He offers to breathe on us, bringing new life: “Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life” (John 3:5). Let God’s unseen Spirit breathe new life into you. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Joh3v5
