Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of sharing a journey walking with Jesus through the book of John. And, like all books, it contains words. But unlike other books, God’s books contain the living Word. John begins with, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1). And so we followed the Word. And we saw “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us” (John 1:14). Then we witnessed the living Word reveal God to a world in darkness. We saw Jesus heal – “Pick up your mat and walk.” (John 5:8). We saw him transform lives – “Your son will live.” (John 4:50). And then we saw him silenced, for a moment by death. But the grave could not silence him. He rose, and we heard him say, “Peace be with you!” (John 20:19). But then, as John ended, we discovered this book does not contain the living Word. “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” (John 21:25). The Word that began this incredible story cannot be contained by a book or all the books in the world. It’s the Eternal Word. It bursts out beyond books to live in us, forever. It’s truly beyond words. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Joh1v1
