“I am… the life.” (John 14:6) When Jesus made this claim, He used a very specific word for life: zoe. This wasn’t just about breathing or existing. In Greek, there are different words for life. Psyche refers to everyday physical life – what we eat, wear, build, and do. In John 12:25 Jesus says, “Anyone who loves their life (psyche) will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life (zoe).” Zoe is something far deeper. It is the eternal kind of life, the life of heaven, the very life of Jesus. It’s not just about living forever – it’s about living differently. We are born with psyche, but Jesus offers us zoe. Think of it this way: psyche life is like walking under heavy grey skies. Zoe life is like flying above the clouds where the sun is always shining. Even when storms surround you, His life lifts you into something higher. Jesus didn’t come just to extend our lives. He came to transform them. “I have come that you may have life (zoe) and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). To follow Jesus is to receive a new kind of life, now. His joy. His peace. His Spirit. This is the life above the clouds. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh14v6, https://bit.ly/Joh12v25, https://bit.ly/joh10v10
