Drawn Between Points

Drawn Between Points

All of us are given exactly two guaranteed points in life — the day we are born and the day we die. Between them lies a dash, and that dash is our only real opportunity. At a memorial service, your life's true picture is never painted by a résumé of achievements or a list of possessions. It is painted in the stories told by the people touched along the way — the child who saw her first shooting star with you, the elderly neighbour driven somewhere special, the stranger who received unexpected kindness from you. Jesus described this picture with striking clarity: "'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.'" (Matthew 25:34-36) The beauty of a life well-lived is not in bold achievements but in quiet, loving connections. God himself is defined by this. "God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." (1 John 4:16) And the mark of those who follow Jesus is unmistakable: "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:35) The question is not what you will accumulate in your dash, but who you will love. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Mat25v34-36, bit.ly/1Jo4vs16, bit.ly/Joh13v35
