If you’ve ever lived in Africa, you’ve heard about the plight of the rhinos. For their protection, they have their horns removed to keep them safe from poachers. An interesting phenomenon is that no matter how often a rhino’s horn is shaved off, it will always grow back, which unfortunately means they are at risk again. We can take a similar view of our big danger in life – sin. While we can remove the things that lead us astray us in life, they can grow back no matter how vigilant we are. This leaves us at risk of being hurt by a world intent on sin. 1 John 2:4 states, “Whoever says “I know him’ but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.’” This is a warning that we should keep God’s commandments close to our hearts every day, as without his teachings and Jesus in our lives, we risk being killed by sin. It is essential to stay vigilant of sin creeping up on us in this modern world and always to make sure we know God by conversing with him every day. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/1Jo2v4 (Jean Luc H)
