In rugby, there is a warning that the ref might shout – “Use it”. This means the team must get the ball out from under the pile of bodies lying on it and get it moving. The rule is there to both stop teams from slowing down the game and to keep up the pace of the game. There is a similar command that Jesus gives through a story. It’s a story about a king who goes away. Before he goes, he gives his servants money, instructing them to put the money to work until he returns. When he returns, he calls his servants to check how they did. The servants given ten and five gold coins had doubled the king’s money. However, when he calls the servant with one gold coin, he replies, “I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.” (Matthew 25:25). The king is angry because he did nothing with what he was given and the servant is thrown into outer darkness. This is a story about us. God has given us all talents. If your talent is leading, then lead. If speaking, then speak. If serving, then serve. If smiling, then smile. Whatever it is, God has given you a talent to use in his service. Don’t bury it. “Use it!” Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Mat25v14-30
Use it!
