Ungrateful

Ungrateful

We once had an employee we went out of our way to help. We would loan him money even though we knew he would never repay it. We would understand when he did not come to work, citing reasons like feeling unwell or an urgent activity he needed to attend. When he finally left to go elsewhere, he left without paying his debts or expressing his thanks. You might wonder why we were so silly to keep employing him. However, this is not the question I ask. The question I ask is, “Am I the employee?” – “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:13-14). We are the employee. We have a debt beyond repaying, and God has, through Jesus, forgiven us. The question is – Am I grateful for what God has done, or do I intend to walk away because I have somewhere else I am going? Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Col2v13-14
