Transformed to be above

We have enjoyed an abundance of butterflies all around our house recently. As we were walking they floated effortlessly over the veld on the gentle breeze. I was struck by the incredible transformation a butterfly undergoes. Before it was this free, flying insect, it was just a lowly worm. It could only move a few metres a day and see the world from ground level. Now it can easily fly kilometres and float high in the sky. What a change! It gives us an insight into the physical change God promises us “in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). But we don’t have to wait for this glorious change to immortality. God promises us an astounding change when we take Jesus into our lives. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This is a promise of an incredible new life in Jesus. Just like the caterpillar sheds its old form to become something beautiful and free, so too do we shed our old selves when we come to Jesus. He doesn’t just improve us—He transforms us. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/1Co15v51-53, https://bit.ly/2Co5v17 (Craig B)
