I’ve never been a fan of the wind—most of us aren’t. A strong breeze can often spoil a beautiful day. The other day, I did a 15km run with my dad, battling a persistent headwind. Ten kilometres in, he told me about his tradition of stopping for a 3-minute meditation mid-run. We found a quiet spot in the vineyards to clear our minds and meditate on God through breath and His word. As I closed my eyes, I pictured Peter stepping out of the boat toward Jesus. At that moment, a powerful gust swept over me, and I felt God’s presence. The wind, which had been my enemy, now felt comforting—like God speaking and the Spirit moving around me. After three minutes, I opened my eyes, reflecting on how something frustrating had become beautiful, drawing me closer to God. “You built your home above them. You use the thick clouds like a chariot and ride across the sky on the wings of the wind. You make the winds your messengers and flames of fire your servants” (Psalms 104:3-4). Life’s distractions often keep us from seeing God, but when we pause and breathe Him in, even the strongest winds can bring Spirit and life. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa194v3-4 (Kayla G)
