The Bible: 4. Threads of redemption

From the first breath of life, when heaven met earth in Adam and Eve, there was shimmering hope. But it vanished like a fleeting shadow. In their desire to be like gods, Adam and Eve fell, introducing sin, death, and separation between heaven and earth. They tried to cover their shame with fig leaves, but some chasms are too vast for humans to bridge. In mercy, God clothed them in skins, revealing that sin’s cost was life. Yet this truth faded. Cain, driven by envy, killed his brother Abel, choosing his own way, apart from God. Humanity spiraled, building their own realities, filled with music, tools, and innovation, but also violence, betrayal, and unchecked desires. God’s beautiful design for Earth was buried beneath chaos. The world’s pulse throbbed with wickedness so deep that “Every intent of the thoughts of their heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5). A heart-wrenching judgment followed: “I will erase mankind, whom I’ve created, from the face of the earth” (Genesis 6:7). Yet hope still flickered, for “Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord” (Genesis 6:8). The tapestry of heaven and earth seemed torn beyond repair, but even here, within despair, God was already weaving redemption. If your life feels torn and broken, know that God is still working in your redemption story. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Gen6v5-8
