Do you know Jesus

Do you know Jesus

Do you know about Jesus? It’s a simple question, and I’m sure most people, despite what they believe, will say they do. Do you know Jesus? At first glance, the question may seem the same. And we might give the same answer. We all know about a lot of things. You might know about electricity, as we have all seen a light turn on. But when you touch a live wire, you know electricity – you feel it, what it can do, and you hopefully won’t make that mistake again. You may know about starvation, but if you go without food for 40 days, you will know starvation. To know and to know about are worlds apart. One is a surface-level understanding, while the other is a deep relational understanding. In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” To know Jesus isn’t just about checking him off the list of things to do in the morning. To know Jesus is to open the door, to feel him work in your life, to experience him. To know Jesus is to have a relationship with him, to spend meaningful time with him, to dine with him. To know Jesus is eternal life. “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3). So, do you know Jesus?
