I Am

I Am

“God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14). Many explanations have been offered for God’s name revealed to Moses. It serves as a profound summary of His purpose in all creation, expressing His eternal nature and constant activity. Recently, I encountered a compelling new perspective: God’s name signifies a dimension of “being” beyond our limited, time-constrained understanding. Unlike Adam naming creatures, God is not merely the supreme being or the highest category of being; He transcends our concept of being itself. God exists beyond all forms of being as we know them, preceding and encompassing all existence. He is the origin and goal of all existence. “I am who I am” is not just a statement; it’s a revelation of a reality beyond words, human categories, or mortal comprehension. Yet, in this humbling realisation, God still communicates with us, loves us, and sends us forth with His name! Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Exo31v14 (Matthew B)
