We all face the terrible pain at some stage in our lives when we lose someone really special. When my father-in-law recently passed away it was an amazing comfort to the family when we all shared special memories of his life. These memories wove together to create an ever more beautiful picture of a truly wonderful man. These happy memories, as Solomon points out, are a sign of a most important trait in someone’s life. “We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away” (Proverbs 10:7). Happy memories of those we have lost are a mark of their godly life and a blessing left for those who remain to cherish. Yet those who choose a life of selfishness, hurt, and anger are soon forgotten. Their names fade quickly, and their legacy dies with them. But those who live in a way that reflects God’s love remain alive in the hearts of others. Their memory becomes a source of strength, inspiration, and even joy in the midst of grief. So when we remember, we are not just looking back. We are honouring a life well lived, drawing courage for our own journey, and passing on a legacy that will live far beyond our years. How will you be remembered? You make that choice today. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Pro10v7 (Craig B)
