Showing Kindness

Showing Kindness

My father-in-law always showed amazing acts of kindness – children, pets, and strangers all benefited from his kind heart. However, to show acts of kindness, it’s important to be prepared. So he always remembered to have sweets in his pocket to share with the kids at church, treats for the dogs, or food in his car to give to someone in need. Kindness is such an important part of who God is. Our Heavenly Father gave us the ultimate example of kindness – “when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.“ (Titus 3:4-5). But when we see kindness, what impact does it have on us? “God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance” (Romans 2:4). Today, when you think about God’s kindness, ask him to forgive you for your wrongdoings. When you think about the kindness of someone in your life, be prepared to show kindness to others. Your kindness could lead someone to see the ultimate act of kindness – God’s forgiveness of all our wrongs. “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32).
