Calming the storm

Calming the storm

You are in a small rowing boat, caught in the middle of a huge storm. You’ve been struggling for hours to make headway, but the storm only worsens, with waves swamping your boat. It seems hopeless, yet you keep rowing desperately. But you’re not alone—Jesus is with you, though He’s asleep. This was exactly the situation the disciples faced: “Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm” (Mark 4:38-39). The disciples struggled alone, and when they finally woke Jesus, they asked if He didn’t care. How often do we do the same in life’s storms? We fight alone, relying on our strength, and when we fail, we blame God for not helping—though we never asked. The storm calmer is with you. Don’t wait for your boat to flood. Call on His power and let Him say to your storm, “Quiet, Be still!” and it will be completely calm. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Mar4v38-39
