It’s Rachel’s birthday, and downstairs, over a dozen gifts are beautifully wrapped just for her. She’s over the moon with excitement, eager to open them. Don’t we all love receiving gifts? Just hearing the words, “I have a special gift for you,” fills us with joy. Today, I want to share a very special gift from our Lord Jesus. In the gospel of John, He says, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27). Jesus is right—the world can’t give us true peace, and it’s a gift we all desperately need every day. Instead of carrying our worries, let’s follow the advice of the apostle Paul: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). A gift for you
