I’ve always seen overall wellness as a triangle, simpler than Maslow’s hierarchy of needs pyramid. At the bottom corners are mental and physical well-being, both essential foundations for good health. But the most crucial part is spiritual well-being at the top of the triangle. While mental and physical health creates strong roots, spiritual well-being determines whether you truly flourish. Jeremiah 30:17 says, “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.” There will be times when you’re not as physically fit as you’d like or when personal struggles arise. However, this verse reminds us that true healing and restoration come through maintaining a healthy spiritual life. Without a strong relationship with God, your wellness triangle risks collapsing altogether. Keep your faith at the top of your priorities, and the rest will fall into place and remain steady.
