Read any newspaper or news app, and it will be filled with bad news. Often, reading or listening to the news leaves you feeling depressed – stories of greed, war, crime, violence, and corruption. This is such a contrast to God’s Good News. God encourages us to think about things which are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). He wants you to fill your mind with good things every day. Thessalonians has some beautiful good news God wants to share with you today. “For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10). What a contrast with the world’s news. God chose you to save you so that when Christ returns, you can live with him forever. “Let us encourage each other and build each other up” with these words. (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
